The Sharla D. Wooten Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering and supporting young people living in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Our mission is to provide education and civic engagement opportunities that will help create a brighter future for our communities.
We believe that by raising awareness of HIV/AIDS, preventing teen pregnancy, educating teens on sexting laws, and promoting voter education and registration, we can empower young people to make informed decisions and actively shape the future of their communities.
Our focus on education and civic engagement is rooted in the belief that knowledge is power. We strive to give young people the tools they need to succeed and make a positive impact in their communities.
We are committed to working alongside local organizations, schools, and government agencies to create a strong and vibrant community for our youth. Join us in our mission to empower and support the youth of Dallas-Fort Worth, and help create a brighter future for all of our communities.
Our Mission
To provide educational resources to youths residing in the Dallas – Fort Worth Metroplex.
Empower and support young people in Dallas-Fort Worth through education and civic engagement to create a brighter future for all communities. Raise awareness of HIV/AIDS, prevent teen pregnancy, educate on sexting laws, and promote voter education and registration. Collaborate with local organizations, schools and government agencies.
Our Vision
A community in which all people attain the highest possible level of prodection, education and basic needs.
A Dallas-Fort Worth where young people are informed, engaged and empowered to shape their own future, through education, civic engagement and access to knowledge and resources. A community where HIV/AIDS is not a significant threat, teen pregnancies are rare, and young people are aware of sexting laws and actively participating in shaping the future through voter education and registration.
